Terms and Conditions

1. What this is
Elevate Internships is a tool for finding internships, co-ops, externships, research positions and early-career programs, for planning certifications, and for tracking applications and which certifications you have finished. It is run by Elevate Internships (“we”, “us”) from Connecticut, in the United States. The core tool is free of charge and provided as-is. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Who can use it. You must be at least 13 years old to use this site or create an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
2. Listings come from third parties
Listings are retrieved from The Muse, Remotive, Jobicy and Himalayas, from Simplify's internship and new-graduate lists, from employers' own public job boards on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and SmartRecruiters, and — where the operator has configured a key — from Adzuna and USAJOBS. This application does not create, verify, endorse, or control any listing. It does not scrape any website.
Listings may be filled, withdrawn, or inaccurate. The app hides postings older than nine months and those outside the United States, but a listing that passes those filters is still not guaranteed to be open. Each listing is labeled — internship, co-op, externship, research position or early-career program — from the words in its title, so a label can be wrong, and a listing may be paid or unpaid whatever its label says. Always confirm the details, including pay, on the employer's own site before applying.
3. Certifications and cost labels
Each certification is labelled Free, Free to audit, Check your campus, Paid, or Reference, as accurately as could be determined when the catalog was assembled. Providers change their pricing and rules without notice, and some charge for an exam while the training remains free. The certification comparisons say on each page when their facts were last checked.
Confirm the current price and rules on the provider's own page before you enroll or pay anything. This application is not affiliated with or endorsed by any listed provider. Some certification links may be affiliate links that earn a commission if you buy a course after clicking; pages with such links say so, and commissions never affect which certifications are listed or how they are ranked. Anything paid for as a sponsorship is labeled Sponsored.
4. Not career, legal, or financial advice
Track suggestions, rankings, certification routes and “why this fits” notes are produced by matching rules, not by a careers adviser. The readiness checklist counts the steps you have taken on this site; it is not a prediction of your chances. Recruiting countdowns are worked out from typical timelines and your graduation year, and employers set their own dates. All of these are suggestions to consider, not professional guidance about your education or career.
5. AI-generated answers and suggestions
If the operator has enabled them, two features use a language model. “Suggest more” results may be inaccurate or may reference courses that no longer exist. They are labelled “suggested, verify link,” and the app checks that a link responds before letting you add it; a link that responds is not proof that the course is free, current, or worthwhile. Ask Elevate answers are written only from this site's own pages, which are linked under each answer, but they can still be wrong, incomplete or out of date, so check the linked pages before relying on one. Do not put personal information in a question.
6. Sponsored listings
Employers can pay $49 to feature an internship for 30 days. Every sponsored listing is reviewed by hand before it appears and is labeled Sponsored; a listing that is not approved is refunded in full. Sponsored listings are advertising, not recommendations: check them on the employer's site like any other listing. Listings that ask students to pay to apply are not accepted.
An employer who buys a listing confirms that it describes a real position, is accurate, is theirs to post, and follows the law, including equal-opportunity, wage-and-hour and unpaid-internship rules. The employer is the one hiring, not us. Once a listing has gone live it is not refundable, and a live listing that breaks these terms can be removed without a refund.
7. Notifications, watched companies and the campus leaderboard
Reminders, the weekly email and watched-company alerts are a convenience, not a guarantee. A watched company is matched by name against the listings this site already holds, so a posting can be missed, or another company's posting matched, and a notification can arrive late or not at all. Do not rely on them for a deadline.
A school appears on the campus leaderboard only when its career center asks. The leaderboard shows totals for students who joined through that school's link, never anyone by name.
8. Your responsibilities
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account
- If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, keep that account secure too
- Do not use this tool to scrape, bulk-harvest, or redistribute listings
- Do not try to reach another person's account or data
- Check each employer's and provider's terms before applying or enrolling
An account that breaks these terms, or is used to attack or overload the site, can be suspended or closed. You can delete your own account at any time from the account page.
9. Third-party terms
Data retrieved through Adzuna, USAJOBS, The Muse, Remotive, Jobicy, Himalayas, Simplify, and Anthropic remains subject to each provider's terms of service. Enabling a source means accepting its terms. Signing in with Google or LinkedIn is also subject to their terms, and payments to Stripe's.
10. Attribution
US postal code and city coordinates are derived from the GeoNames postal code export, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. If you redistribute this application, that attribution has to travel with it — see server/data/GEONAMES-LICENCE.txt.
Remote listings marked Himalayas come from Himalayas and link to its page for each job. Listings marked Simplify come from the Simplify and Pitt CS Club internship and new-graduate lists.
11. No warranty
The software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. No promise is made that it will run without error, that results will be complete or accurate, or that any source will stay available.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of this application — including a missed deadline, an expired listing, a course that turned out to cost money, a wrong answer from Ask Elevate, or any hiring decision. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they apply only as far as the law where you live allows.
13. Changes
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top reflects this version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. A change that matters to account holders will also be announced on the What's new page.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there. Before bringing a claim, please write to privacy@elevateinternships.com so we can try to sort it out first.
