How Elevate Internships finds internships on company career pages

Where the internships come from

Listings are pulled from employers' own public job boards (on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and SmartRecruiters) and from public feeds including The Muse, Simplify's internship list, Himalayas, Remotive and Jobicy. Nothing is scraped from sites that do not offer their listings publicly, which is why LinkedIn, Handshake and Indeed appear as prefilled search links instead of listings.

Before you see them, listings older than nine months are hidden, listings outside the United States are hidden, and duplicates posted in several places are merged. When you search by ZIP code, each listing's distance is measured from its city; a listing whose location cannot be placed is left out rather than guessed.

We do not write or verify the listings themselves. Always confirm the details on the employer's own site before applying, and never pay to apply for an internship.

Why company career pages matter

Most companies post internships on their own careers site first, using an applicant tracking system such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or SmartRecruiters. Posting to the large job boards is often an extra step, sometimes a paid one, so plenty of internships — especially at startups and mid-size companies — only ever appear on the company's own page. Reading those pages directly is how we show internships you might not find on the big boards.

You can do the same by hand for a company you care about: open its careers page, filter for internships, and check back every week or two during recruiting season. Our search does that for about 150 employers at once and adds public feeds on top.

How certifications are chosen

Every certification is picked for its relevance to one or more business majors and labelled honestly: free, free to audit (the course is free, the certificate is not), check your campus, paid with the real cost, or reference for reading rather than a credential. Prices change, so confirm with the provider before you pay.

Every certification link is checked automatically, and pages that have moved or closed are replaced or removed. Some providers block automated checks; those are checked by hand.

A certification is a way to show a skill. It does not guarantee an interview or a job, and no employer on this site requires one because we recommend it. Browse them by field on certifications for business majors, or start with the free certifications for business students.

Recruiting timelines and guides

Timelines describe typical patterns for each field. Employers set their own dates and change them from year to year, so treat them as a planning guide and check each firm's deadline. Each major's timeline is on its page under internships by major, and when to apply for business internships puts them side by side. The internship guides cover resumes, cover letters, interviews and networking.

You can search without an account. Your ZIP code is used to measure distances and is not shared with the employer boards, which are fetched in full and filtered on our server. There is no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
