Elevate Internships

Free Certifications for Business Students

Free Certifications for Business Students: List it under a Certifications section with the provider and the month you finished it; Pick ones that match the internship you want, not the most impressive-sounding ones; Be ready to talk about one thing you learned or built while doing it

A certification will not get you an internship on its own, but the right free one shows a recruiter two things: that you already have a skill they need, and that you went and got it without being asked. This list is every certification in our catalog that you can complete for free, or audit for free and pay only if you want the certificate.

Free means free: the course and the certificate cost nothing. Free to audit means the course is free and the certificate is optional and paid. Prices and terms change, so confirm on the provider's site before you enroll.

Questions students ask

What free certifications should business students get?

Start with one that matches your target role: Google Analytics or HubSpot for marketing, an Excel or financial modeling course for finance, SQL for analytics, QuickBooks or IRS VITA for accounting. A free job simulation on Forage is useful for any major.

Do free certifications look good on a resume?

Yes, when they are relevant and you can talk about what you learned. List them under a Certifications section with the provider and the month you finished.

What does free to audit mean?

The course material is free, but the certificate costs money. Auditing is a good way to learn the skill; pay for the certificate only if you want the credential on your resume.
